Join us at Glen Foerd to dissect your very own owl pellet! We’ll start by learning about the different owls found in Pennsylvania and how owl pellets are formed. Then, each participant will learn how to identify different mammals through their skeletal structures before receiving an owl pellet to dissect and explore. 

As we sort and examine the bones, we’ll discuss the evolutionary adaptations of the mammals we uncover. Everyone will also receive a container to take home and display their findings.  

This event is appropriate for ages 5-12 (with adult supervision) and will be held outdoors, so come dressed appropriately for the weather at the time. Under the circumstances of inclement weather, we will move indoors. Reach out to Colleen at cwinslow@glenfoerd.org with any questions you may have!
