Lauren Putty White

Dream Etched in a Memory, 2025

Lauren Putty White has brought an untold story of longing, exhaustion, diligence, and joy to life with original choreography set to a live score straight from the Jazz Age.

“Dream Etched in a Memory” tells the story of the mansion’s butler, Arthur Laws. Mr. Laws worked hard tending to a mansion that could never be his while his wife, Mary, raised their children in a home he rarely saw. Lauren Putty White and Joe Gonzalez interweave choreography and improvised movement to imagine the daydreams of Mr. and Mrs. Laws as they lived and worked along the edges of extravagant wealth, looking in.

The score played by pianist Adam Faulk features Jazz Age tunes from Glen Foerd’s musical collection.
