Glen Foerd on the Delaware is having a Tea to celebrate Mother’s Day on Saturday, May 10th from 12:00 until 3:00 p.m. The affair will be a perfect time to honor those important women in our lives while enjoying the time honored Tea Service.
The tickets are $20.00 for members, $25.00 for non members and must be purchased by Friday, May 2nd.
There will be tea sandwiches, desserts and of course, tea. (Coffee will be served as well.) Along with the special treats planned for that day there will be tours of the Art Gallery, the Gift Shoppe will be open and the drawing for the LAGOS earrings will take place. The earrings are sterling silver and 18 K gold from the LAGOS Caviar Collection. Chances are $5.00 each or 5 For $20.00. You can buy tickets at the event or purchase them in advance at the business office any weekday. You can also call 215 632 5330 and we’ll be happy to send them to you.

- Bird Walk at Glen Foerd

- Come join us on Saturday, May 17th, 2008 at 7:30
a.m. for an enjoyable and educational walk around the grounds
of Glen Foerd. This is a great chance to learn about the area birdlife
and enjoy one of the beautiful green spaces remaining in Northeast
Philadelphia. The walk will be led by an experienced birdwatcher
and local educator Frank Windfelder. The program begins at 7:30
in the Glen Foerd mansion and ends at about 10:00 a.m. Light breakfast
will be provided. Dress casually and wear comfortable walking
shoes. Binoculars are recommended. For more information please call

- If you enjoy working with the soil and watching a garden come to full bloom, please join our group. We meet around 9 a.m. on the Glen Foerd grounds and stay for a couple hours weeding, deadheading and trimming in the various flower beds. Bring your gloves, water and clippers, if you have them. We will be there the third Saturday of each month unless weather prohibits. Please call the business office with any questions at 215-632-5330.

- Due to popular demand, we have resumed our Evening tour series.
Please join us on Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. for an opportunity
to take in the breathtaking views and rich history of Glen Foerd on
the Delaware. The tours will include areas of the mansion such as
the formal dining room, drawing room, sun porch, library, art gallery,
bedrooms and rathskellar. In addition to experiencing the art, architecture
and furnishings of yesteryear, you will gain interesting information
about the history of Glen Foerd, the community of Torresdale and the
city of Philadelphia from our engaging tour guides. Admission for
the tour is $8.00 and tour passes may be used by our members. Please
