Glen Foerd Preservation
We, who represent Glen Foerd today, feel extremely fortunate to be able to participate in efforts to sustain this beautiful and unique manor. Planned restoration projects include the rebuilding of the boathouse, the repair of the Haskel pipe organ and the reinforcement of the river wall and the water tower. While we are striving daily to maintain, preserve and restore the estate, we are creating a cultural and educational center for future generations. We see great value in our purpose. For if we are not successful, all the magnificence that is Glen Foerd will be lost.

We hope that, in visiting the mansion itself, or our new home on the internet, you will be inspired to aid us in realizing our mission.

Glen Foerd Receives Grant from the PHMC
Glen Foerd on the Delaware, one of the last surviving riverfront estates in Philadelphia, is very excited to announce that it recently received a very generous grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission. The grant, which totals $4,500, will be used to improve the mansion’s collections catalogue system through the use of the computer program Past Perfect. The new software will allow Glen Foerd to make its antique object documentation more accessible to its staff and, ultimately, to the public. Glen Foerd is very grateful to the PHMC for their sizeable grant and looks forward to using the new system to aid in achieving Glen Foerd’s mission of preserving the mansion as a historic site and a center for providing history and culture to the public.
