I have been lucky enough to live down the street from Glen Foerd. Some of my fondest memories have been of walking through the ground and seeing the changing beauty throughout the season, and sitting beneath the "Ziggy Tree" reading. Now, I take my niece on walks through Glen Foerd. It is a place of peace and tranquility for me and my family.

The estate is marvelous but I want to say that your web site is outstanding as well. You are to be congratulated and commended! Thank you for all your efforts. They are greatly appreciated.

Glen Foerd is certainly one of the most special places along all the Delaware. We began sailing from along the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, and ended near New Hope. We touched ground downriver from Glen Foerd and were so proud to show our guests that such a distinguished estate existed nearly untouched for so many years.

Dear Glen Foerd,
My husband, Tom, and I were married at Glen Foerd on October 15, 1993, yes, 1993!! It was a beautiful Fall day and we were able to have the ceremony outside in the Gazebo while watching the sunset. Afterwards, we came inside and enjoyed a wonderful evening of food and dancing. Jack Conroy did the catering (even back then) and did a truly excellent job! Now, the children of some very dear friends of ours have selected Glen Foerd for their wedding! Of course, Tom and I think that is just an excellent choice!! They will be married there on May 19, 2006. We can hardly wait for that day ourselves! We are so looking forward to reminiscing about our own wedding there and adding even more great memories of Glen Foerd to our collection!

Dear Chef, Management and Staff,
We would like to thank you for providing us, our families and our dear friends an evening they will always remember. The evening was December 4, 2004 when our son Ray married his dearest friend Autumn Katzenmoyer.

The mansion was elaborately decorated for the holidays. The staff was so supportive, treating us all as family. The food was delicious and expertly served.

We realize that the wedding was the culmination of many hours of planning. During the planning stages the staff and caterers were very accommodating and supportive. It all equated to a perfect ceremony and reception.

From everyone's description, the Glen Foerd Mansion is the perfect place to begin a married life together.

I am a born and raised Philadelphia who never heard of this estate. I recently stumbled upon this beautiful place by mistake while looking for a home to buy. I was just driving around river front homes searching for the home of my dreams; and found this home! Since then I have ask several friends and family members if they ever heard of this estate, and to my surprise no one has. What a shame; I have taken my kids, niece and nephew and all fell in love! This is truly a place where schools should do a little history teaching! We now go about once a month and just sit by the river and day dream; what a relaxing place to be. And now that I have read the history what a wonderful place to dream! I truly pray my grandchildren have a chance to enjoy this place as well. Please to all who are responsible "keep up the good work!" And thank you!

I previously added a guestbook entry about 8 years ago. I had attended a Pancake breakfast and sang in a local choir there. Little did I know at the time that I was pregnant with my son. Well today I took him to the grounds to help him discover the beauty of Glen Foerd for himself. I was hesitant that a young child wouldn't grasp the importance of such a historical site. I was dead wrong. Using our imaginations we pretended we were the residents of the estate back in the 1800's. It was wild. Along the way he asked me to read the names of the trees and was strangely interested in all the beauty and discoveries. We are planning on coming to the evening event on May 18, 2004 at 7:00pm so that he may experience the interior of the mansion and hear the history of the estate. He also (though only 8) is already declaring this the site for his wedding! :) This place is so tranquil and magnificent that you MUST come see it in person. Thank you to all the caretakers and Board for keeping it going.

My husband and I both grew up in the area. As teenagers we would drive past the mansion frequently. As a married couple, the caretaker was an acquaintance and we visited often. My nephew was married there is 1997 and I can only say it was the most wonderful wedding I have ever attended, so much charm and elegance. It is wonderful that someone is keeping the old charm alive. We in Philadelphia have destroyed so much of our history for modern development. I applaud you. Keep up the great work!
